RIP, Anne Meara

I must say here and now that I LOATHE seeing Anne Meara being referred to EVERYWHERE as “Ben Stiller’s mother”. I’m guessing Anne wouldn’t mind, because she loved her children dearly and was proud to be their mother. But, people – especially journalists – get a CLUE! That she was Ben Stiller’s mother should have been mentioned in the LAST paragraph, not the headline! She was famous in her own right for many years before Ben was even a twinkle in his father’s eye. She should be referred to and revered as HERSELF, not as anyone’s mother – or as anyone’s wife, for that matter, brilliant though Jerry Stiller is. RIP Anne – you were a treasure, an amazing talent, an icon, and a fearless role model to those who came after you and looked up to you. You will be missed.
